A member asked:

How effective is radiation in cancer treatment?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends: Radiation therapy effect depends on the type of cancer, and the desired outcome. Sometimes radiation is used to help cure cancers. Other times it is used to palliate (or decrease) symptoms of an otherwise incurable cancer.
