Give it time: The first steps in treating a clot are to find it and prevent growth or spread as explained by dr. Sinclair. The dissolution of the clot is handled by natural mechanisms in your body, but it takes time.

IT depends: Where is the clot and whether it is in the superficial or deep vein systems. Superficial clots are usually not that dangerous and after being examined by the doctor it can be left on its own or treated with compression nsaids and ambulation. Deep vein clots could be dangerous they can cause pulmonary emboli and death. Body can't take care of them and anticoagulation hsa to be started asap!
