DVT Treatment: Treatment of Deep Venous Thrombosis has three aims: To stop the thrombus from breaking off and becoming a pulmonary embolus, to stop the thrombus from growing larger & reduce chance of more DVT. Please call your treating MD to discuss your treatment, he may also want you to wear compression stockings but you should coordinate through your treating MD only.
