Yes: Prunes are high in fiber. Fiber acts like a sponge in the bowel. If you have diarrhea, it absorbs some of the water. If you have constipation, it attracts water into the bowel to lubricate it. The theory is the same with any high-fiber food or additive. Take plenty of fiber regularly, and be sure to drink plenty of water with it to stay regular.
