A member asked:

Is it possible for a person to pass on an auto immune disease without having it active in they're system?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most cases are : There is a big genetic component of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderm etc...These are autoimmune disease and often transmitted to the offsprings during younger years when diseases are actually not active. When disease is very active/advanced, infertility is an issue and so often they are passed on earlier when women can more easily concieve. Consult doc. Good luck.
