X-ray test of tubes: A hysterosalpingogram (hsg) is an x-ray test to check that your fallopian tubes are open and normal & checks the inside of your uterus for polyps, fibroids or scar tissue. We look inside like a pap smear, place a tube or catheter inside the cervix and inject contrast 'dye' into the uterus while you lay on a table under a low-dose x-ray machine. Local anesthetic and pain tablets reduce cramping.
