Different infections: Viral infection is often the cause but there is also a possibility of bacterial infection, e.g., urinary tract infection. The infant has to be seen by primary care doctor.

How to treat low grade fever fast?

Why?: Why treat a low grade fever? It may be helpful, it should not affect you adversely other than being aware of it, and simply recording the levels of fever and the times it occurs may help your doctor if it persists and you need a diagnosis. If you are really bothered by it you can take Aspirin or tylenol (acetaminophen) every 4-6 hours to suppress it.

I have a low grade fever but no other symptoms? How long should I wait at home?

How much?: Need to know how much fever, and how do you feel. Do you have any risk factors for other illnesses? Fever, in and by itself, is not particularly disturbing and will probably go away spontaneously in time, but if it is still going on in a week, you have other symptoms, your appetite is waning, you are having night sweats, then it might be appropriate to get looked at. Keep in touch. Get better.

How to treat low grade fever fast before a dinner party?

Question unclear: If you are giving or going to a dinner party and have fever, it suggests that you may have a transmissible infection. Why give it to everybody else? If you have to go, Aspirin or Acetaminophen may help to bring down the fever.
