A member asked:

How do you get the blood out of a vacuum tube once you've drawn it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Remove lid: Once blood has entered the vacutainer tube the vacume is much less powerful. The top can be easily removed. The tops of these tubes can be easily removed even while empty. In order to keep specimens separate and sterile many lab instruments can access the blood in a vacutainer without removing the lid at all.
