Take meds: Hiv can develop resistance by replicating (multiplying) when there are antiviral drugs present. The way to prevent this is to always maintain high enough drug levels to completely prevent replication. People who take their medications faithfully rarely develop resistance, as long as the drugs are chosen properly.
