What to avoid: It's easier to say what to avoid. If you're taking lexapro, (escitalopram) you should avoid valerian, st john's wort, same, kava kava, and gotu kola. Hope this helps.

Not Saint Johns Wort: You should avoid taking st john's wort because it will interfere with antidepersants.
