Yes for some people.: Caffeine stimulates the nervous system. Some are very sensitive to its effects. It causes increases in blood pressure, heart rate, mental alertness, the same as the fight/flight/freeze response to danger. Anxiety is fear of unidentifiable or an imagined threat. Body reaction is the same for physical or mental threats. With ongoing use, the response abates unless a user's dose is higher than usual.
