Yes: Just like bacteria, parasites can become resistant to specific drugs. Thus, while there are "drugs of choice" for specific parasites, one can never be sure that a given treatment will work. It is thus wise to be retested after treatment, though i advise waiting at least a month- a treatment might kill most but not all parasites so a test just after may miss the few survivors.
