No: Radiologists are the only physicians specifically trained to interpret MRI scans. Other physicians may be able to make some sense out of MRI scans, but only radiologists have the knowledge and experience to do the best job. If a radiologist has interpreted your scan, a report was sent to the doctor who ordered it, and that doctor can explain the results to you.

No: Radiologist are physicians. We went to medical school and have as much training as neurosurgeons. Believe me, you want a radiologist to interpret your images and it is money well spent. Additionally, there are some government regulations about who interprets imaging and who can bill for this service. Ask for a radiology specialist to read your study.
