A member asked:

Hi, how likely are several subcentimeter lesions in left lobe of liver benign? patient had surgery for endometrial adenocarcinoma and the ct scan was done prior to surgery. post-surgery results were stage 1b. radiologist recommended mri for the liver?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

MRI would not able to resolve the benign or malignant nature of the lesions. A needle biopsy of the liver is likely needed to settle the issue. A radiologist can guide the needle to a lesion to make sure that appropriate tissue is sampled for examination by a pathologist.
