A member asked:

Is there an association between lithium and food cravings?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: And for some reason, patients seem to crave carbohydrates or sweet foods. It is a major problem and challenge when treating a patient with lithium. Lithium, which is an element, can be a very good medication in many instances, however, it does have it's drawbacks. With any and all medications, one must do a careful benefit/risk analysis.
