Possibly: Could be tightness in your achilles tendons or other sructural or biomechanical problems. More supportive shoes, orthotics and stretching exercises are helpful. Apply ice to area after activity.

Shin splints: Yes if they r worn out. If sneakers lose there cushion and support you can develop shin splints.

It could be: Shoes that are non-supportive, worn out or not proper for the activity you are performing could certainly cause this. Biomechanical causes may also be responsible. If you proper shoe wear does not solve problem, have it checked out.
