IUD is foreing body: When you have an iud placed your uterus may contract to try and push it out since it knows that it is not "normal" for the iud to be there. The cramping usually lasts several days. Usually this slowly goes away. You may have some cramping when you have sex for the first few weeks. If you have fevers, increasing pain, or increasing bleeding- then you should get in to see the doctor who put iud in.
