Mushy spot in scalp?: If a soft or mushy spot on the scalp stays for more than 1-2 weeks, it should be evaluated to see why (in case it is some abnormal skin growth or some type of skin cancer). If it lasts only a few days to a week or two, it could just be some temporary pimple, small cyst, or small abscess that drained itself and went back to normal. If all is not back to normal quickly, an exam is needed.
