Ingrown Hairs: Ingrown hairs can lead to localized (and regional) infection. Best to try and prevent by early detection of ingrown hair and removal. Pustules need drainage (like any pimple) and if they are large/deep that might require a trip to see a doctor. Drainage might be the cure, but in some cases local or systemic antibiotics may be necessary (for deeper/more widespread infection).

Laser hair removal: Some patients will consider permanent reduction of hair in areas where they experience recurrent bumps or follicle infections. Most commonly the back neckline and front beardline is targeted. Laser treatments can effectively eliminate some follicles or at least affect the coarseness of the remaining hairs. Caution: your doctor should confirm that your "pustules" are not viral before proceeding.
