Unlikely.: Iron deficiency anemia is very treatable. It is very unlikely to die from this. But iron deficiency can be a symptom of a far more serious illness. You should be checked thoroughly if you have iron deficiency anemia. Your primary health provider can do this.

Yes: If iron deficiency is not treated, ultimately this can lead to high output cardiac (heart) failure. When someone is anemic, then their blood volume is low. This leads to increased cardiac output and ultimately the heart can't keep up with the demand. When this occurs, lack of blood flow leads to organ failure. Learning point is to treat it.
