Lemming? No . . .: Do you do everything your friend does? The only reason it worked for your friend is that beer served as a liquid to help flush out his/her stones. We typically don't recommend consuming alcohol to get rid of kidney stones but rather plenty of other non-alcoholic fluids. Drinking plenty of non-alcoholic fluids is also a good way to keep from developing stones, too.

No. : Unfortunately, beer is not good for flushing out kidney stones (i think that's what you're referring to). It may seem like it would be - beer usually makes people urinate a lot, right? But it has the opposite effect of dehydrating you which could cause more stones or a flare up of gout (if you're predisoposed to gout). Stick with lots of water, and make sure you pass on the news to your friend!
