See answer: Kidney stones form for many reasons. Stated simply, stones form when the urine becomes over-saturated with the mineral salts normally present in the urine that can form stones: calcium, oxalate, phosphate, uric acid, etc. Precipitation of these salts is influenced by their concentration, urine volume, and other stone inhibiting/promoting substances. Beer or alcohol do not directly cause stones.
