What are common causes of brain injury?

Multiple: Trauma, lack of circulation, lack of oxygen, drugs, etc.

Depends...: It depends on how you define brain injury. You could have brain injury caused by trauma (probably the biggest cause), stroke, tumor, brain surgery, bleeds, infection. I have seen brain injury caused by all of these.
