What could be a reason the doc can't do a c-section?

C/S: There are very, very few reasons a c/s could not be done. Most of these would be related to the mom being in some type of medical or traumatic situation where she is so unstable that she would not survive surgery.

Not trained to.: Some family practitioners and all midwives are trained to attend normal deliveries but cannot perform cesarean sections. They consult an obstetrician in their hospital to perform the c-section if it becomes indicated. A trained obstetrical surgeon should be able to perform an indicated c-section in a maternity center with perinatal anesthesia and neonatology services in pretty much all scenarios.
