Yes: It depends what controller you are taking! there are different controllers available so i would discuss with your doctor, and discuss a possible medication change.

Yes: There are several options for controller medications but if you have more than trivial asthma you definitely need to use a controller medicine. People still die of asthma in the us (5000/year).
