Likely strain/sprain: Most likely the muscles or connections around the knee are irritated. Muscles get strained, and several connect around both sides of the knee. I would suspect tendinitis or ligament sprain from running or other aspects of training. Even if no pain at the time, such things as hills, shoes, how well stretched before running and warm-down can lead to injuries that show up a day or two later.

Strain???: Hard to say if this is an injury that was waiting to show up, and the 10 mile run finally put you over the edge. Hard to say- your shoes, running form, hills vs flat, etc. Rest and get back to slow running with less distance. If it continues, see an orthopedic Dr.
