Emg: See your doctor to get eval for any nerve damage with emg/ncv test. Get eval for regional pain ( causalgia-reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome)..You may need to see a pain management specialist.

Consider neuroma: Plantar fasciitis will cause heel pain when first standing after sitting or laying down for a while. If there is nerve pain involved the pain will be progressively worse the longer he stands on his foot. You have to consider the possiblity of a calcaneal neuroma to the heel. If he is not getting relief from his doctor, see another podiatrist for a second opinion and possibly surgica treatment.
