It's in remission.: Eating disorders are a brain disorder like depression/alcoholism. These can be chronic, lifelong conditions like diabetes. By changing behavior/thought patterns they can be managed but remission requires vigilance. Support groups, cognitive behavioral therapy(cbt) or dialectical behavioral therapy(dbt) can help self-control. Ongoing success is most likely when therapy is combined with medication.
