#1 injury from Falls: The most common problem i see is that elderly confused people try to get up out of bed when they are too weak to do it themselves and they fall to the ground. Most of the time the injury is not serious but they can break bones or have a head injury. Also some times they can get the wrong medication. Or sometimes the staff may not attend to their needs as promptly as they should.

Anything: Bad nursing home reputation, failed annual inspections, loss of independence, change of environmental or cultural settings, uncooperative residents, unprofessional staffing, fire safety, aging building, inner city location, falls resulting fractures, infections among other residents, food poisoning and fear of institutionalization.
