A member asked:

Could ambien (zolpidem) be causing my infrequent black outs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Ambien (zolpidem) is a great sleeper to have on hand but can do as you mention in some individuals. However "black outs" have different meaning to different people. To me these sound like some form of seizures and need immediate investigation. What is needed and when can only be decided by your primary doc and he may want a neurologist involved in the workup. Do not delay visit to primary doctor.
