A member asked:

My mom just got diagnosed with microalbuminuria. what exactly is it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Protein in urine: I assume she is diabetic? Microalbuminuria=protein in urine, which may indicate that her kidneys are having trouble and thus spilling protein into her urine. Depending on the degree of protein in urine, there are medicines available to help with this. It is very common in diabetics, especially if having diabetes for long period of time/poor control. Consult doc. Good luck.
