Usually normal...: Most of the time, the breath sounds in a patient with a pulmonary embolus, or pe, are normal. The problem when a pe is present is a blocked blood vessel where the blood clot is located!

Normal to other: A normal pulmonary exam is the mot common finding early on. Later, pleural effusions or pulmonary infarct may evolve, in which case dullness to percussion, a rub, bronchial breath sounds etc will be present.
