May be too loud: It is possible that you have the volume too loud. Prolonged intense noise exposure will cause hearing loss and this may lead to tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Both of these may be temporary or permanent. I highly recommend that you set the volume so you can still hear the outside environment when you are listening to your music through your headphones.
