Myoclonus: Both medications have shown favorable response for myoclonus, both can eventually show tolerance & limited response. If your doctor recommended klonopin, (clonazepam) it is worth a try.

Possibly: Both drugs are in the benzodiazepine family; so both should work. Both are used for muscle spasm, periodic leg movements, etc. If you've been taking valium for a while, its effect may be lessening; so a switch to Klonopin (clonazepam) may bring more relief. Perhaps alternating between them as body adapts to one will provide relief for longer time. Otherwise, see doc for alternate med family.
