Low sugar, low fat: Go low on your sugars and fats. Also cut down on starch like bread, pasta, rice and potatoes. Go high on vegetables and fruits. The more colors the better. Green, red, yellow, blue, like that. Reasonable long term exercise raises "good, " protective cholesterol and improves your mood.

Healthy Diet: Avoid saturated and trans fats. Other fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated) are helpful and should constitute approximately 20 - 30 percent of total daily calories. Avoid highly refined and high sugar carbohydrates. Instead, focus on fresh fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, beans, and limited amounts of whole grains as your chief carbs. Eat several servings of cold water / oily fish per week.
