Residual Pain: The nerve near the cyst may be still inflammed (especially if the pain is burning/sharp/radiating in nature). Barring any allergies, alleve, numbing creams, or even stronger pain drugs such as narcotics (i.e. Percocet) can alleviate the pain. Non-medication choices include ice. If the pain is uncontrollable and seems to be getting worse each day, visit your physician.

Trial of meds: Emg/ncs of the involved nerve will provide the extent of the injury and if there is a need for surgery, a trial of neuropathic pain medication may be helpful.
