Yes: There are a few increased risks if you are overweight including a higher risk of infection and slower healing of the cesarean wound. To help yourself, you can work on eating a balanced diet and exercising before your c-section.

Maybe, depends on wt: Every surgery is more complicated when you are severely overweight. However, 10, 20 or 30 lbs should not make much difference. We are talking about 75 lbs or more, especially when the fat is around the belly. Pregnancy is not a time to lose weight, if you are pregnant and overweight, now is not the time to lose weight in anticipation of a c section. Do it after delivery.
