Is a pap smear accurate in showing trichamonas vaginalis. i tested positive for this but my partner hasn't.?

Often: A pap which shows trichomonas is usually accurate. A more helpful test is a smear done at the time of exam (a wet smear or hanging drop) which misses fewer infected women a partner's test is less accurate if you continue positive after treatment, he may also require treatment.
