Esophageal reflux ?: The problem could be due to gastroesophageal reflux disease (gerd) which can cause a dry cough, indigestion and bloating symptoms commonly noticed at night. These symptoms may also be associated with weight gain, allergies to frequently eaten foods as well as caffeinated and alcoholic beverages. Try eliminating coffee, sodas and tea as much as possible. An allergy elinination diet may also help.

Reflux, hernia: Both reflux or a hiatal or paraesophageal hernia can lead to similar symptoms. Reflux is best treated with medication and weight loss, the hernia through the same plus surgery (possibly). Have your physician examine you to see which next steps are right in your case.
