Should you take xenical while taking diovan (valsartan)?

No: It is not mandatory. You take xenical for obesity to decrease total absorption of fats. Diovan (valsartan) is for blood pressure. Many a times obesity is associated with high blood pressure and in such cases adding xenical to Diovan (valsartan) or other medications for high blood pressure will help in reducing weight as well as blood pressure.

Blood pressure : Should discuss with your doctor, mixing drugs not always a great idea.

No: Xenical is not a good medicine - avoid it. It blocks fat absorption including fat soluble vitamins like a, d, e, k & beta carotene. There are few reported cases of hypertension with xenical.
