Ask doctor: Diovan (valsartan) and Benicar are typically prescribed as once a day drugs forhigh blood pressure. It doesn't matter if you take it at night or in the morning by itself. Your doctor may want it at a specific time because of other medications or some other reason. Also they come in hct form which include a diuretic. I recommend that not be taken at night unless you like going to bathroom. Food doesn't matter.
