Is an ultrasound an appropriate way to check for blood clots?

DVT: Dvt or deep venous thromboses of the legs are typically diagnosed by performing an ultrasound and doppler analysis of the veins of the legs, and by checking a plasma d-dimer. Other possible tests (which aren't usually used) include a dye venogram, nuclear venogram, mrv, or ct scan.

Yes: I assume you are asking about leg clots and ultrasound can show clots and blood flow using doppler.
