Is a clay-like substance dissolved in liquid a well-known remedy for colic?

Waste of time: The fascination with the relationship of a babies digestion & colic can be traced back to the earliest writings on child care by thomas fare in the 1700's.The assumption that babies had colic like horses has led to many concoctions fed to or poltaces placed on the abdomen. None had/have any value. At best we understand colic as a transient behavioral issue that will pass with comfort & support.
