Same As Adults: Depression in teenagers is mostly treated in the same way as adults. Medications are used if needed, although medication use does require more monitoring due to evidence of slightly higher risk of side effects. Other non-medication therapies can be helpful - with teens it is more common to involved parents and families in treatment since family issues are often part of the picture.
