How can one lose belly fat after a cesarean section?

Dr. Nikolaos Zacharias answered

Slowly, deliberately: Like any other abdominal surgery, cesarean section requires >3-6 weeks of recovery time before engaging in any exercise regimen. Diet and exercise are always recommended for weight loss (in that order). If you breastfeed, you will likely shed the extra weight more quickly, although diet and lactation do not mix well (may decrease your milk production). Swimming, treadmill and stationary bike work!

Diet, exercise . . .: . . .And then (if your family is done) plastic surgery to tighten the loose muscles and remove the stretched skin. In some cases, the abdominal wall is strong and not so stretched, and liposuction can yield improvements. But not until you have done all the things in dr. Zacharias' excellent answer. Good luck!

Weight loss: If you just had a c-section, you need a few month for the skin to retract, otherwise by losing the baby fat, you'll get in better shape. However, you will still have loose skin and possibly some left over fat that could be suctioned.
