One month?: It depends what you mean by an alcoholic. If a person drinks of alcohol for 30 days, one will likely have some withdrawal symptoms (shakes) if one stops abruptly. Usually the diagnosis of alcohol dependency has to do also with impairment in functioning. One drink is one ounce of liquor which is the same as 12 ounces of beer which is the same as four ounces of wine.

For some.......: Although one would not meet diagnostic criteria for alcoholism, some might say it takes one drink for the right person with the right proclivity. What that means that after ingesting alcohol, it could start a cascade of events & an unhealthy relationship with alcohol. There are some people who should never drink alcohol.
