BestCurrent GlP1 Med: Victoza (liraglutide) is both: best & safest of current meds for type ii dm. Glp1 is a peptide secreted by distal small intestine. It stimulates beta cells to stay alive, ?es insulin+amylin release to eating, ?es glucagon release, slows stomach emptying & ?es apatite center activity > people loose wt, esp. ?ed doses. Yet nolowsugarproblems without other meds. Impt: start very low & ?slowly, too fast= queasy.
