Hpoglycemia: Victoza (liraglutide) by itself does not impose a significant hypoglycemia risk but in combination with other diabetic medication risk increases significantly. These medications are frequently reduced and retitrated after victoza (liraglutide) established.

Victoza (liraglutide) …: Stimulates Insulin secretion & inhibits secretion of glucagon only when blood glucose levels are higher than normal (e.g., after a meal); therefore, it has a low risk of hypoglycemia. However, if combined with other glucose -lowering meds, the risk for hypoglycemia is increased, depending on what the other drug(s) is/are.
