Follow-up in 2 weeks: Usually, I have patients return to my office two weeks after surgery. I may ask them to come in earlier if staples or sutures need to removed. At this visit, your physician will examine the incision site to make sure it is healing properly and that there are no signs of infection. Until your follow-up appointment, it is best to clean the site with soap and water and keep the area dry.
