Not together.: That herb actually has a number of very active drugs in it. There are very few studies that look at the interaction between prescription medication and over-the-counter herbs. I would not recommend using the two together. Consult with your doctor and see what they think.Just because it is an herb doesn't mean it does not contain drugs. Interactions are always possible.

Possible interaction: Gingko and Prozac (fluoxetine) are both metabolized by the same liver enzyme system, so can compete for use of this. Also gingko can slightly inhibit this enzyme system, possibly slowing prozac's metabolism. There is also anecdotal evidence that gingko + Prozac (fluoxetine) in depressed patients can lead to hypomania -- but we don't know whether gingko alone can do this (without the prozac).
